On 16 December, as part of the official study visit to Spain, the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives of the Ibero-American Network for International Legal Cooperation – IberRed.

The meeting took place with representatives of the Spanish Secretariat of the Conference of Ministers of Justice of Ibero-American Countries (COMJIB), the highest governing body of IberRed, responsible for strengthening judicial and legal cooperation across Ibero-American jurisdictions.

The exchange provided the Uzbek delegation with valuable insights into:
- mechanisms of international legal and judicial cooperation;
-coordination between justice institutions across borders; and
- practical tools supporting mutual legal assistance, extradition, and cross-border criminal justice cooperation.

The meeting offered an important comparative perspective, highlighting how structured regional cooperation frameworks contribute to effective justice administration, rule of law, and human rights protection.

The study visit was organised by the National Human Rights Centre of Uzbekistan, the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, and the Centre for Development and Justice International (CDJI), in close cooperation with Spanish national stakeholders and authorities.

This meeting further enriched the programme by situating detention and criminal justice reforms within the broader context of international cooperation, institutional dialogue, and shared legal standards.
